EXCELLENCE: Striving for excellence is the goal of Aspen Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Specialists, SC (Aspen). The term "excellence" is heard in about every venue , but just what does that mean when it comes to orthopaedic care? We submit that there are four prime ingredients: Passion, Learning, Communication and Facilities.
PASSION is a love for that which one does, a quality which pushes a person to be as good at something as they can possibly be. Passion is an ingrained, deep rooted commitment of our physicians and staff for achieving the best level of care possible for each and every patient.
LEARNING, EDUCATION AND TRAINING are an ongoing and integral part of the orthopaedic practice life at Aspen. We at Aspen have gathered together a well trained and committed group of board certified orthopaedic surgeons, physical medicine and podiatric specialists to fulfill our passion. Our physicians and staff keep up to date and by sharing and participating in continuing education programs, orthopaedic journal reading, and teaching.We have been active in osteoporosis education since 1972 and continue to educate, diagnose and treat osteoporosis. We have participated in drug trials, orthopaedics implant trials, and acted as beta test sites for software.
COMMUNICATION WITH PEERS, STAFF AND PATIENTS is so important to maximize the level of care and understanding about a patient's conditon.We have developed a library of patient information brochures to give out at patient sessions and at various forums and talks which our physicians and staff give. We have expanded our website for patient education. We have pioneered an orthopaedic office patient advocate program that is unique in helping patient communication.
We have MODERN EQUIPMENT ANDFACILITIES to enhance the ability to care for patients and enhance our ability to achieve the the goals of Aspen. We were one the first to be computerized in 1976 and one of the first office practices to maintain electronic medical records. We have modern offices with well equipped x-ray. bone densitometry and minor surgery rooms.
Orthopaedic surgeons are the primary musculoskeletal care specialists and are trained to evaluate and treat musculoskeletal conditions, to educate patients and the public in preventive care and life styles to maintain a healthy musculoskeletal system. We at Aspen are totally committed to this concept. We practice in all areas of orthopaedics: trauma and fractures, sports medicine, hand surgery, arthritis and joint replacement surgery, arthroscopic surgery, foot and ankle surgery, kypoplasty and spine surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery. We also provide electromyograghy (EMG), bone densitometry, and special braces and orthotics.
