Sports Medicine

When athletes are competing or training and develop a sports injury, they often see a sports medicine physician for treatment. Sports medicine specialists are medical doctors with advanced experience and training in sports medicine, which is the treatment of sports injuries and exercise-induced conditions of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.

Our sports medicine specialists at Aspen Orthopedic Specialists treat more than just collegiate or high school athletes. They also treat active individuals who may have experienced a sports injury from activity, exercise, or overuse. Since most sports injuries or conditions do not require surgery, our sports medicine doctors exhaust all conservative treatment options before considering surgery and may use physical therapy, some medicines, or alternative treatments.

If surgery is needed, our sports medicine surgeons will work with you to determine the best course of treatment and procedure. This may include rotator cuff repair, meniscus repair, arthroscopy, or any common sports medicine surgeries.
